For SIHH 2013 blue infinity was asked by Vacheron Constantin to highlight three new watch models that are a part of their “Crafts” collections: The Anthology models. These models are exclusively dedicated to women and are inspired by 18th century English botanical illustrations.

In order to communicate the delicate sensibility that inspired this unique collection, blue infinity successfully translated the Victorian aesthetic into a well-designed modern microsite. The driving concept of the site was to leverage on the typography & illustrations of the 18th century botanical theme by creating a digital version of an illustrated book.  Navigational elements such as full scrolling functionality successfully gave users the feel of discovery that one gets from reading an old book. Fluidly animated floral themes highlighted the delicate details that come across in illustrated manuscripts of the time as well as the elegant complexity of the watch line itself.  The product descriptions help users to understand the paintings which were transcribed on the watch dials, informing them of the artistic story behind each watch.

The creative solution presented a significant technical challenge in that it was required to deliver a consistent experience with compatibility across multiple platforms, along with a range of browsers and in 10 different languages. The final solution was entirely constructed from HTML 5 and included animated flash back-ups for older browsers.

The result was the multiple award winning Vacheron Constantin-Florilege site created by blue infinity. Among the awards received were “Outstanding Website” from the Web Marketing Association, “Site of the Day” award from Awwwards, and the “Site of the Day” award from the FWA. The site was seen all around the world by thousands of users, designers and other agencies and was also added to the WMA`s book “The Best 365 Websites Around the World” 2013 edition.
