The GVA.NET User Group just went through a lively revival, thanks to member and blue-infinity employee Valeriu Caraulean (pictured left), Senior Consultant E7 Microsoft Solutions, who took the initiative to co-organize a session at Hepia in Geneva on the 3rd June. The aim of the sessions is to give anyone in the .NET developer community an opportunity to attend a sponsored event and have access to passionate developers sharing technologies and knowledge.
The meeting was led by Roberto Vespa, a developer who expertly presented SignalR in Practice. SignalR is a new framework for ASP.NET developers that makes it incredibly simple to add real-time web functionality to your applications. The 10 participants in classroom fashion were kept engaged with an advanced scenario, live-coding at the right pace and an animated Q&A.
The 2 hour session was followed by some quality social time at the Café des Arts & Metiers (pictured right), including a hearty ‘croute de fromage’! This allowed the team to unwind, network and have an informal exchange on .NET topics and daily coding challenges.
To continue the new momentum, the User Group is scheduling monthly meetings on various topics of interest around the Microsoft .NET technical stack.
