Curious about the next Windows OS version? What can we expect from it? Will the new Windows codename “Threshold” become Windows 9?

We will know more tomorrow, Tuesday 30th September, when Microsoft will host a special invite-only event in San Francisco to discuss what’s next for Windows and the enterprise.

So what will be inside? Well, there has been no official communication from Microsoft about the features, but there have of course been some leaks, like these screenshots.

Some are expecting a comeback of the Start Menu in a slightly new format, including the addition of “tiles”. Cortana, a voice-powered digital assistant, should be here to help you search and organize yourself. There is speculation that a new Notification Center will centralize any notifications and that the support for Virtual Desktops should make it possible to swap personal workspaces.

Will these features be included in the next OS version of Microsoft? Whilst awaiting the official disclosure, feel free to have a quick look at it with this short video.
