Devoxx kids go digital

blue-infinity has once again welcomed Devoxx4Kids to their premises on Saturday 30th May, 2015. Discover the fun day that was had by all!

blue-infinity has once again welcomed Devoxx4Kids to their premises on Saturday 30th May, 2015. The company provided six rooms dedicated to IT Training Academy. As for the trainers, they had already installed all the software on the computers supplied for this event.

Xavier Bourguignon, in charge of Devoxx4Kids Switzerland, was accompanied by twelve volunteering trainers who initiated more than 70 children aged 7 to 15 to programming with Arduino, Thymio, Scratch, Minecraft and HTML. In one of the workshops, they created their own website via coding, which was quite challenging for them.

Other workshops were more playful, especially the one that was animated by the exciting stars of the day: three Nao robots, two of them which were lent by the company Aldebaran. They demonstrated their great dancing and storytelling skills, at the request of the budding young programmers.

In this nonetheless studious atmosphere, some of them ventured themselves into their first manipulations, a bit hesitant at the start, but reassured and more confident as they started to get to know each other. At the end of the day, the children were already talking about the next Devoxx4Kids session, which made it clear that this fourth edition was a resounding success!
