Piaget wished to highlight their presence and promote their various partnerships with film festivals, through new branding, online presence and rapid updates.
The richness of content and brand exclusivity make up the heart of this unique project. Alongside the official website content and contextual information - nominees, categories, winners - a section called Inside raises the curtain, to show what is rolling backstage at the Festival - pictures, news, fashion and more.
To highlight creativity in film whilst demonstrating Piaget's strong involvement in the cinema industry, visuals are prominently featured and elegantly stack on top of each other in a grid.
Technology inside the new portal deploys two event based websites, allowing audiences to see real time updates to festival content such as hot news and information about movie stars.
Wordpress helps acheive a multi-site operability, including the updating of content throughout the event by Piaget, centrally and easily. At the Film Independent Spirit Awards in LA, an international event sponsored by the Swiss jeweler since 2008, these updates were handled by different geographic teams at Piaget thus allowing for time zone differences.
The website is fully responsive. To respond to audience requirements in terms of accessibility, display speed and browser fluidity, the sites are based on two templates; a responsive template optimized for IE9-10 / Chrome / Firefox / Safari / Mobile / Tablet, and a template optimised for older versions of IE (6-7-8).
Initially, blue-infinity worked on the design and development of the portal dedicated to Piaget’s initiatives in the film industry, piaget-cinema.com
This was followed by the launch of the mini-site dedicated exclusively to the Festival, piaget-cinema.com/spirit-awards
